Stay Tuned is a 2019 Japanese TV drama created by HTB (an affiliate of Asahi TV) to celebrate their 50th anniversary. It was based on Channeru Wa Sono Mama, a manga created by Noriko Sasaki a decade earlier.
The five episodes is set in a fictional Hokkaido-based local station named Star TV. This station is in a ratings war with another station. The station has several teams with star performers for collecting and disseminating news, weather and local information. The station also has a policy of hiring hopeless rookies. Their reasoning is that if they hired only talented people, they would build walls around themselves and coordinate less efficiently.
The star of this show is a hopeless rookie named Yukimaru. What she lacks in talent and experience, she more than makes up in spirit and enthusiasm. Her lovable demeanor wins her a lot of friends among the public and this brings several news scoops her way. Her co-workers remain afraid of her though.
