Draft2Digital's partnership with IngramSpark has helped my paperbacks become more easily available in India. However, a consistent problem that I face with this option is that the covers look washed out. The inner pages are fine.

I have purchased several books printed by IngramSpark's third-party print-on-demand printers. Their covers have no such problem with them. It is only the Draft2Digital print book cover that looks dull.

For the first edition of my fiction title Unlikely Stories, I uploaded a PDF. For the second edition, I uploaded a PNG so as to avoid the problem I had with the first edition. It made no difference. There is some colour-processing error introduced when D2D sends the cover to IS.
I hope D2D fixes this problem.
UPDATE (November 2023)
Draft2Digital has confirmed to me in an email that this kind of colour difference is a feature.

If readers wish to avoid this problem, they should buy all-colour book from Amazon for $0.99 more.
